Arindam Bagchi, who has served as the spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, is set to assume a new role as India’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva. Arindam Bagchi, a member of the Indian Foreign Service since 1995, is widely recognized for his adept handling of significant issues such as the Ladakh border dispute, India’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and India’s leadership in the G20.

The Ministry of External Affairs has officially announced that Arindam Bagchi, currently serving as an Additional Secretary in the ministry, will soon take up this new position.

In his new role, Arindam Bagchi will be responsible for representing India on the global stage at the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva. He will be working to safeguard and promote India’s interests on the international front and will play a significant role in shaping India’s foreign policy on the global stage.

Furthermore, the Ministry of External Affairs is considering other senior diplomats for the spokesperson role, including Nagaraj Naidu Kakanur, who oversees G20 affairs, and K Nandini Singla, the High Commissioner to Mauritius.

Arindam Bagchi will represent India on the global stage, engage with international organizations, and play a pivotal role in advancing the country’s interests at the United Nations.
