“Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Provocative Remark on Sharad Pawar’s Alleged Statement on Israel-Palestine Conflict”

A recent political dispute emerged on Wednesday over the Israel-Hamas conflict, as leaders from different parties voiced differing opinions. Regarding NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s alleged statement on India’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commented, “I believe Sharad Pawar will send Supriya (Sule) to Gaza to support Hamas,”. The tension escalated as Union Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter to address Sharad Pawar’s remarks on India’s position during a terrorist attack in Israel. Goyal expressed disappointment at Pawar’s comments, stressing the importance of condemning terrorism globally. Goyal highlighted Pawar’s significant roles in the government during critical security incidents.

On Sunday, Pawar stated that India has consistently supported the Palestinian cause. He informed a gathering of NCP workers in Mumbai that former Indian Prime Ministers had also staunchly supported Palestine.

Responding to this, the NCP presented its perspective on the issue. Jayant Patil, leader of the NCP’s Sharad Pawar faction, urged Goyal to review statements from the External Affairs Ministry on the Palestine matter, stating that it would shed light on the government’s decision-making process.
