“Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Announces Restoration of Mobile Internet Services and Unveils Development Initiatives”

In a significant announcement, Manipur’s Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, revealed that mobile internet services would be restored in the state within the next four to five days. He acknowledged the hardships faced by the people due to the temporary ban on mobile internet, which was imposed to maintain peace and security in the region. Speaking at a program held at the mini secretariat in Ukhrul district following a cabinet meeting, Mr. Singh reassured the citizens of the imminent restoration of these services.

During this event, Mr. Singh also laid the foundation stones for various projects and inaugurated schemes amounting to ₹64.38 crore in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, which are mainly inhabited by the Naga community. Addressing the growing population and land-related issues in the district capital, he proposed the development of a new Ukhrul township near Sirarakhong village. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fulfilling the dreams of the local people, stating that Ukhrul holds great importance as a town following Imphal. Water scarcity has been a pressing concern, and Mr. Singh pledged ₹6 crore for water supply solutions, with plans to construct a dam estimated at ₹180 crore to ₹200 crore.

Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister thanked civil society leaders and village chiefs for their continuous support in the state’s anti-drug campaign. He recognized the vital role they played and honored them with tokens of appreciation. In his closing remarks, Mr. Singh highlighted the significance of strengthening the bonds between native communities that have coexisted in Manipur since time immemorial, emphasizing unity and harmony.
