The Ministry of External Affairs in India has reported the successful landing of the sixth flight as part of ‘Operation Ajay,’ aimed at rescuing Indian citizens struck in war-torn Israel and Gaza. This operation is ongoing as Israel’s strikes on Hamas in Gaza have entered their 15th day.

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, posted on X that on Sunday night, the sixth flight arrived in the National Capital, New Delhi, from Tel Aviv, carrying 143 passengers, including two Nepalese citizens. The passengers were warmly received by the Ministry of Steel and the Ministry of Rural Development, represented by Faggan Singh Kulaste at the New Delhi airport.
As of now under ‘Operation Ajay’ in the fifth flight has successfully brought 286 Indian nationals, including 18 Nepalese citizens, to New Delhi. Thus far, approximately 1,200 passengers, which include 18 Nepalese citizens, have been successfully return from Israel under this operation. The Ministry of External Affairs has updated that more flights could be dispatched as necessary.
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi confirmed that the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation in Israel in light of the ongoing conflict with Hamas. He dismissed reports of Indian casualties in Gaza but noted that one Indian national had been injured in the attacks.
The Indian nationals caught up in the conflict have expressed their gratitude for ‘Operation Ajay,’ acknowledging the support provided by the Indian embassy and the efficiency of the evacuation process, describing it as “Nice and Quick.” This operation highlights India’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens amid challenging international situations.
