The residents of Charangaon, a village in Maharashtra’s Akola district, have taken a stand by banning the entry of Political leaders into their community until the long-awaited Maratha quota is officially declared in the state. Charangaon, located in Patur taluka, is the first area in Akola to implement such a ban, and it has sent a powerful message to both political leaders and the state government. A prominent sign at the village’s entrance proclaims that no leader from any political party will be allowed access until the Maratha quota is officially established.

One of the villagers explained the sentiment behind this move, stating, “If political leaders can think about the future of their children, why not us?
