Key Promises in BJP’s Chhattisgarh Manifesto for the Upcoming Assembly Elections

The Chhattisgarh assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 7 and 17, with the election results expected to be announced on December 3.

The BJP’s manifesto includes various commitments such as the promise to fill one hundred thousand vacant government positions in Chhattisgarh within two years. They also pledge to provide subsidized cooking gas cylinders at a price of ₹500 each to women from economically disadvantaged families. Under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, college students will receive a monthly travel allowance. Furthermore, the party plans to allocate funds for the construction of 1.8 million houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, ensuring that every household has access to tap water within two years through the ‘Ghar Ghar Nirmal Jal Abhiyan.’ The proposed Deendayal Upadhyay Krishi Majdoor Yojana will provide an annual stipend of ₹10,000 to landless agricultural laborers. In addition, the ‘Mahtari Vandan Scheme’ aims to offer married women an annual financial assistance of ₹12,000. The BJP also intends to introduce the ‘Krishi Unnati Scheme’ which will procure paddy from farmers at a rate of ₹3100 per quintal, with a target yield of 21 quintals per acre. Furthermore, they plan to organize visits to the Ram temple in Ayodhya for the people of the state.

During a rally in the state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, calling him a “pre-paid CM” of the Congress and stating that the “validity of his talk time has ended.” Shah accused Baghel of turning Chhattisgarh into an “ATM of Congress,” alleging that if Baghel were to be re-elected as Chief Minister, significant amounts of money would be embezzled regularly. Shah emphasized that voting is not just for electing MLAs or ministers but also for shaping the future of the state. He urged the public to use their votes to combat Naxalism and promote the development of the Adivasi region.
