Five individuals passed away after a section of a well given in at a town in Jharkhand’s Ranchi area on Thursday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated. However, NDRF authorities stated the toll is still unidentified as the rescue procedure is underway.
The case occurred in Piska town, around 70 kilometres from state resources Ranchi.
“My heart is pained by the sad news of the death of five people in a well in Piska village… May God grant peace to the departed souls, and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this difficult hour of grief,” Mr Soren published on X (previously Twitter).
Meanwhile, employees of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) stated initiatives are underway to save the 5 individuals caught inside the well, which the casualty is not quickly understood.
“The incident happened in the afternoon after an animal fell into the well. In an attempt to rescue it, nine people went inside the well, and then a portion caved in,” Ranchi SP (Rural) H B Jama stated.
