Retail Inflation Rises Sharply Due To Food Prices, Highest In 15 Months

Retail rising cost of living leapt to a 15-month high of 7.44 percent in July as costs of veggies as well as various other food products increased, according to main information launched on Monday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based rising cost of living went to 4.87 in June as well as 6.71 percent in July 2022.

Previously, high rising cost of living was taped at 7.79 percent in April 2022.

The rising cost of living in the food basket was 11.51 percent in July contrasted to 4.55 percent in June as well as 6.69 percent in July 2022, according to the information.

The retail rising cost of living in veggies year-on-year was 37.43 percent while the price of rate surge in ‘grains as well as items’ was 13 percent, revealed the information launched by the National Statistical Office (NSO).
