President Donald Trump is asking the government court supervising unique guidance Jack Smith’s criminal political election subversion instance versus him to establish the test for April 2026.
In a declaring Thursday night, Trump prompted United States District Judge Tanya Chutkan in Washington, DC, to deny Smith’s proposition for a January 2024 test, claiming he “seeks a trial calendar more rapid than most no-document misdemeanors, requesting just four months from the beginning of discovery to jury selection.”
“The government’s objective is clear: to deny President Trump and his counsel a fair ability to prepare for trial. The Court should deny the government’s request,” legal representatives for the previous head of state created.
They asked Chutkan to rather established court option as well as the test for April 2026.
