“12 Hours of Tremors: India, Neighbours Rattled by Triple Quake Crisis”

This morning, an earthquake happened in Myanmar which is a country in Asia. It made the people there very scared and worried. This is the third country that has been hit by an earthquake recently with India and Nepal being the other two. So three countries in this region have experienced earthquakes  and it’s causing concern among the people.

In the last 12 hours, there have been earthquakes in different parts of the world, including Jammu and Kashmir, Myanmar, and Nepal. The one in Myanmar today had a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale and happened deep beneath the Earth’s surface, about 90 kilometers down.

Another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was felt in Mizoram, a place in India, on Sunday-Monday. This one was closer to the surface about 20 kilometers deep and it affected Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram.

People are worried because these earthquakes are happening one after the other. They are considered aftershocks  which are smaller quakes that follow a bigger one. But there’s concern that a larger earthquake might occur and that’s making everyone nervous.

On Sunday night there was an earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir a place in India. It happened in the Kishtwar district at 10:56 pm and had a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale.

on Sunday morning a very big earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 hit Nepal. This earthquake was powerful and shook Kathmandu which is Nepal’s capital. It was so strong that it caused 20 houses to collapse.

These frequent earthquakes are making a lot of regular people very scared. Many in Nepal are remembering the big earthquake that happened in 2015, where 9,000 people lost their lives. The latest earthquake’s epicentre was in the Dhading district and it struck at 7:39 am. Thankfully  this time it didn’t cause any damage. But people in other areas like the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, also felt the shaking from the earthquake.

Media reports say that this earthquake didn’t cause any significant damage, but in some places, the ground has become uneven or depleted. In a province called Jwalamukhi in Dhading district, which is about 90 kilometers from Kathmandu  20 houses collapsed and 75 houses have cracks in them.

After the earthquake in the morning, there were three more earthquakes in Dhading on Sunday afternoon. These earthquakes were stronger with a magnitude greater than 4 on the Richter scale. People are concerned because the ground is moving  and these aftershocks are making them nervous.

When there’s an earthquake deep underground  its effects can be felt in the area around it and on the tectonic plate where it happened for several days. This happens because the Earth’s crust is adjusting to the changes caused by the initial earthquake. These ongoing tremors are called aftershocks and they can make the ground shake  causing worry for people in the affected region.

At some point, there was an earthquake with an intensity of 5.1. This means it was a moderately strong earthquake. Another earthquake occurred with an intensity of 5 which was also quite strong. After that, there was a less intense earthquake with an intensity of 4.1. This one was weaker than the first two. At 8:00 am there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3. Magnitude is a measure of the earthquake’s overall strength. About 28 minutes later at 8:28 am there was another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3. This one was about as strong as the earlier 8:00 am earthquake. Finally at 8:59 am there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1. This was slightly weaker than the previous ones.
