“Earthquake Redux: Delhi Hit Again”

The area experienced a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale. This earthquake was strong enough to be felt in the nearby areas, including the capital city  Delhi. When an earthquake occurs, the ground shakes due to the movement of the Earth’s tectonic plates and this can cause damage to buildings and can be quite scary for people in the affected areas. It’s important for people to stay safe and follow any instructions or precautions from authorities during and after such events.

In the past few days  Delhi and the areas around it have been experiencing a series of earthquakes. Even on Sunday morning  there was another earthquake, and this one measured 6.1 on the Richter scale. The point where the earthquake started is called the epicentre and this time it was in Dhading which is 55 kilometers to the west of Kathmandu  the capital of Nepal. The information about this earthquake comes from the Nepal National Seismological Centre. Earthquakes can be scary and can cause shaking and damage to buildings  so it’s important for people to be careful and follow any safety instructions.

The earthquake’s epicentre  where it began  was located 13 kilometers below the ground according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre. Thankfully there have been no reports of injuries or damage from this earthquake. The shaking from the earthquake was felt in other areas within Bagmati and Gandaki provinces in Nepal as well as in the capital  Delhi.

Nepal is known to be a place where earthquakes can happen. In fact, a report called PDNA states that Nepal is the 11th most earthquake-prone country in the world. This means that earthquakes are relatively common in Nepal and it’s important for people to be prepared and stay safe when they occur.
