Live Updates: Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Continues to Escalate

Intensifying Conflict: Israeli-Palestinian Strife Enters 18th Day

The continuous conflict between the Israeli forces and the Palestinian armed group Hamas persists with no signs of diminishing as it enters its 18th day. Amidst speculation of a potential ground invasion by the Israeli military, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) declared their decision to block fuel from entering Gaza, citing concerns that Hamas could utilize it for their operational infrastructure.

In a recent meeting, the UN Security Council discussed the Israel-Palestine conflict, with several countries, including the US and Russia, calling for a ‘humanitarian pause’ to enable the safe delivery of aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip, which is grappling with shortages of essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and electricity.

Tragically, three Palestinians lost their lives during an Israeli night raid in Jenin in the West Bank. Reports indicated that 20 individuals sustained injuries from a drone attack, which was later confirmed by Israel.

US President Joe Biden reaffirmed unwavering support for Israel, emphasizing that the country has the autonomy to make its own decisions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintained the possibility of a ground invasion, expressing determination as he visited soldiers stationed near the Gaza border, stating, “We stand before the next stage, it is coming.”

Israel remains committed to eradicating Hamas following their unprecedented attacks on Israel via land, air, and sea, beginning on October 7, which have resulted in a devastating death toll of over 5,000 and numerous injuries.

Meanwhile, the IDF conducted airstrikes in response to two missiles launched from Syria towards the Golan Heights. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far.
