The Australian government mentioned that 1,600 people from Israel, the West Bank, and even 19 from Gaza had registered for their return, which was described as an “exceptional logistical effort.” Senator Wong stated that 238 Australians were on the initial flight, which left on Friday and reached London’s Heathrow Airport early Saturday. The headline reads: “Australia Halts Evacuation Flights from Israel and Palestine Amid Uproar over Sour Conflict.”
Return flights scheduled for Saturday and Sunday have been canceled due to a “highly challenging and rapidly changing” situation, according to Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
