Indian Railways Unveils Vande Sadharan Push-Pull Train for Affordable Sleeper Travel
Recently disclosed Vande Sadharan Push pull train reached at Mumbai’s Wadi Bunder yard on Sunday October 29. It is slated to undergo testing in the upcoming week. This new 22-coach LHB non-AC 3 tier sleeper train is developed to deliver affordable rates to passengers and has the capacity to accommodate up to 1,800 travelers operated by two WAP5 locomotives , each having streamlined fronts, the train can attains speeds of up to 130kmph.
The trail is assumed to be conducted in Mumbai-Nashik corridors, evaluating the trains’ performance in hilly terrain. It is considered that one of the potential routes for this train could be the Mumbai-Delhi route. Significantly, officials have not shared a response to inquiries regarding this matter.
Beginning from October 12 the Railway Board Secretary, Milind Deouskar disclosed the Indian Railway goals to introduce Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach and Vande Bharat Metro trains, to meet the demands for higher passenger capacity, higher speed and improved passenger convenience.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has previously shared pictures of the concept of “Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach” on different social media platforms. The Vande Bharat Express sleeper train is precisely designed to operate at 160 km per hour and will be consists of 16 carriages, with a capacity to host around 887 passengers.
