The 19-year-old person who threatened Mukesh Ambani the richest businessman in India and Asia with a ransom has been arrested. The Mumbai Police has taken this person into custody  they have been taken under the control and supervision of the police to investigate the threat and any potential criminal activities related to it.

The Mumbai Police arrested a 19-year-old person named Ganesh Ramesh Vanaparthi from Telangana for threatening the famous businessman Mukesh Ambani. The threat was sent through email where the accused used the name “Shadab Khan.” In the email the accused initially demanded Rs 20 crore as ransom but later increased it to Rs 400 crore. The accused sent multiple threatening emails to Ambani. The first email was sent through a VPN network and addressed to Belgium, making it harder to trace its origin.

The first threatening email was sent to Mukesh Ambani’s company on October 27. It demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore and threatened harm if the money wasn’t paid.  on October 28 a second email arrived, but this time the ransom amount was raised to Rs 200 crore. Three days later on October 30 a third email was received and the ransom demand was further increased to Rs 400 crore. The police had a challenge because these threatening emails kept coming one after the other with escalating ransom demands.

Mukesh Ambani had received threats before but this time the accused sent a series of threatening emails increasing the ransom amount each time. The Mumbai Police took this very seriously and began investigating the matter because of the repeated and escalating threats.

In an email to Mukesh Ambani the accused threatened to kill him unless he paid 20 crore rupees claiming they had skilled shooters in India. As a result  Ambani’s security was increased. A case was filed against the accused for trying to extort money from Ambani under Sections 387 and 506(2) of the law which deal with extortion and making criminal threats.

The Mumbai Police acted swiftly and began investigating the threatening email, which was sent under the name “Shadab Khan.” With the help of the cyber police they traced the IP address of the sender revealing that a 19 year-old named Ganesh Ramesh Vanparathi in Telangana was behind the email. The police then went to Telangana and arrested the accused. Ganesh is now in police custody until November 8.
