“Cyclone ‘Tej’ Intensifies: Very Severe Storm Threatens Arabian Sea,Near Landfall “

"IMD Issues Warnings and Safety Measures as Cyclone 'Tej' Gains Strength and Targets Yemen-Oman Coastline"

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that the cyclonic storm ‘Tej’ has intensified and is likely to become a ‘Very Severe Cyclonic Storm’ in the next 24 hours. The storm is currently centered over Yemen’s Socotra in the southwest Arabian Sea, posing a potential threat to the region.

IMD posted on X that “Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘TEJ’ intensifies over Southwest Arabian Sea. Pronounced as ‘TEJ,’ it’s currently centered near Socotra, Yemen.” Additionally they also provide information regarding the storm moment.

The forecast indicates that ‘Tej’ already hit west- Northwestwards to Northwest direction in morning on  October 22nd  these developments indicate the increasing severity of the cyclonic system.

IMD has suggested that the landfall is likely to occur between Al Ghaidah in Yemen and Salalah in Oman, during the early hours of the 25th of October. This prediction highlights the need for alertness and caution in these regions.

IMD has issued a series of safety measures for Local people & Fishermen are strongly advised not to venture into the sea and to remain away from coastal areas until at least October 26th.And For those currently at sea, the IMD recommends a return to the coast, as it is proceeding further into the sea could be extremely dangerous.
