"Netanyahu Hints at Ground Invasion of Gaza Amid Intensifying Tensions"
Israel is facing International pressure as on television Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israel is preparing a ground invasion of Gaza, but he declined to provide any details on the timing or other information about the Operation.
Additionally he provided an update that “We have already killed thousands of terrorists and this is only the beginning,” Netanyahu said. At the same time he informed, we are preparing for a ground invasion.” I will not elaborate on when, how or how many. I will also not elaborate on the various calculations we are making, which the public is mostly unaware of and that is how things should be”.
Israel has carried out days of severe bombardment of the densely Populated Gaza Strip following on October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli communities that killed more than 1,400 people. More than 6,500 Palestinians have been killed in the bombardments, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
Netanyahu, who has so far not taken responsibility for the security failures that led to the Hamas attack, said all involved would be called to account.“The scandal will be fully investigated,” he said. “Everyone will have to give answers, me too”.
But due to international pressure they have to rethink plans for a massive ground Operation in Gaza where it has pressed a relentless bombing campaign that the Hamas-run health ministry says killed 700 people in 24 hours.
Alarm is growing over the continuous death toll in Gaza which Israel has been bombarding since October 7 when Hamas gunmen poured across the border killing 1,400 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 222 others, officials say, in the worst attack in Israel’s history.
So far, more than 6,500 Palestinians have been killed, mostly civilians, and there are fears the toll could further soar if Israel pushes ahead with a widely-expected ground invasion in a bid to destroy Hamas and rescue the hostages.
