Editorial Standards

Effective: 6 September 2026

EnvoyPost aims to publish accurate, fair and useful public-interest journalism. Speed never removes the obligation to distinguish fact, allegation, opinion and uncertainty.

Sourcing and verification

Writers should use primary documents and named on-record sources wherever practical, corroborate consequential claims, link to source material readers can inspect, and explain important limitations. Social posts, screenshots and viral videos are leads, not proof. Anonymous sourcing requires a compelling public-interest reason and editorial knowledge of the source’s identity.

Headlines, updates and context

Headlines must be supported by the article and must not exaggerate certainty. Breaking-news figures are time-stamped and attributed. Archive or representative imagery is labelled so it is not mistaken for the current event. Material updates should be dated; substantive errors receive a correction note.

Independence and fairness

Coverage should seek relevant responses, avoid partisan framing presented as fact, and disclose material conflicts. Criticism of governments, companies and institutions is legitimate when evidence supports it. Advertising, affiliate relationships and press-release submissions do not control editorial conclusions.

Health, science, finance and safety

High-impact claims require authoritative evidence and careful discussion of uncertainty. Medical and financial coverage is informational and must not promise outcomes or replace professional advice. Disaster reporting should prioritise official warnings, avoid unverified casualty lists, and not expose vulnerable people unnecessarily.

Originality

We do not present copied or lightly rephrased material as original reporting. Quotations and third-party material are limited, attributed and used to add analysis, verification or context. Press releases and syndicated items are labelled separately.

Advertising review

Publication and monetisation are separate decisions. New or materially changed posts remain on advertising hold until an editor checks originality, factual sourcing, image rights, headline accuracy and prohibited-content rules.
