Fact-Checking Policy

EnvoyPost fact checks consequential claims by identifying the precise proposition, locating the earliest available evidence, preferring primary records, comparing independent sources, and stating what remains unknown.

Images and video are checked for original upload context, date, location, edits and reuse from older events. AI-detection tools may assist but are not treated as conclusive. A fact-check headline and conclusion must match the strength of the evidence; “unverified” is not the same as “false”.

Each fact check should link to the records used, disclose important limitations, distinguish direct evidence from inference, and carry an update or correction when better evidence emerges.
