India’s first regional rapid Rail Service – Namo Bharat Train will start for the general public on Saturday. This project was launched by Prime Minister Modi on Friday from Sahibabad ,Uttar Pradesh. Its objective is to transform regional connectivity and redefine the way people travel in the northern region.

The first phase will cover a distance of 17 kilometers which connect a total of five stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. The trains will run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour at an interval of 15 minutes. Namo Bharat train has six coaches with the capacity to carry about one thousand 700 commuters. One coach has been reserved for women passengers. Namo Bharat will take less than an hour to cover 82 km between Delhi and Modipuram in Meerut.
