For the development of Indian agriculture, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a state-of-the-art nano DAP (diammonium phosphate liquid) manufacturing plant at the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited’s (IFFCO) unit in Kalol, Gujarat. During the inauguration, Shah highlighted the transformative ability of nano urea and nano DAP in encouraging a shift towards natural farming while maintaining agricultural productivity.

Amit Shah expressed his confidence that IFFCO’s innovative nano urea and nano DAP products will hold a important  place among the most notable agricultural experiments when evaluated a decade from now. This highlights the government’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices, addressing the concerns of both farmers and the environment.

Nano urea,is one of the star products in this attempt it helps in aiding farmers transition to natural farming ,it reduce three-year time period of soil preparation. Amit Shah focuses attention on the importance of replacing traditional granular urea and DAP with their liquid counterparts, recommending farmers to experiment with nano urea until their land becomes certified for natural farming.

The key feature of nano urea that it will have minimal impact on the environment thus safeguarding essential elements of the natural farming system, such as earthworms.

Amit Shah also praise the government’s efforts to relieve the financial burden on farmers, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. The government’s commitment to supporting agriculture is noticeable in its actions, with fertilizer subsidies increasing significantly, from Rs 73,000 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 2.55 lakh crore, a substantial portion of which is covered by government funds.

According to IFFCO’s statement, the newly inaugurated plant has the capacity to produce 500ml IFFCO nano DAP (liquid) bottles, equivalent to one bag of conventional DAP, each day. This impressive production capability will help meet the growing demand for eco-friendly fertilizers in India’s agriculture sector.

The vision of government for the future of Indian agriculture is natural farming and IFFCO’s plant in Kalol is a start of a transformative journey in agriculture.
