Apart from his accomplishments in television, Perry made a mark in the film industry. He featured alongside Salma Hayek in the romantic comedy “Fools Rush In” and starred alongside Bruce Willis in the crime comedy “The Whole Nine Yards.”

Perry had been candid about his struggles with alcohol and drug abuse throughout his career. Following a jet ski accident in 1997, he developed an addiction to Vicodin, seeking rehabilitation in 2001. He later transformed his former Malibu residence into a sober living space known as the Perry House, operational until 2015. In 2021, Perry publicly announced his sobriety, citing an estimated $9 million spent on his journey to achieve it.

According to the New York Times’ coverage in 2022, his addiction led to a complex medical journey in 2018, involving pneumonia, a ruptured colon, a brief period on life support, a two-week coma, nine months with a colostomy bag, over a dozen stomach surgeries, and the realization that, by the age of 49, more than half of his life had been spent in treatment canters or sober living environments.

Immediate information about Perry’s surviving family members was not available. He did not marry or have children.
