“Progress in Uttarakhand: PM Modi Unveils Rs 4,200 Crore Development Projects, Calls for Enhanced Focus on Border Development”

"Bolstering tourism and connectivity through visionary initiatives"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony in Uttarakhand marked the commencement of multiple development projects valued at approximately Rs 4,200 crore. During the event, he also criticized the previous state government for what he perceived as a lack of focus on developing border regions.

In his address to the gathered audience, Modi underscored the government’s commitment to the development of border infrastructure, particularly border roads. The inaugurated projects encompass a wide array of sectors, including roads, power, irrigation, drinking water, horticulture, education, health, and disaster management.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement also suggests that the previous government did not prioritize the development of border regions, citing concerns that adversaries might exploit the infrastructure to infiltrate the state. Modi emphasized the current administration’s departure from such apprehensions and its steadfast progress toward bolstering infrastructure and development in these crucial areas. By focusing on infrastructural development and initiatives to enhance connectivity and accessibility, the government aims to fortify these border regions while simultaneously fostering the overall progress of the nation.

Highlighting the strides made in the border areas, Modi indicated that the government has constructed more than 4,200 kilometers of roads, 250 bridges, and 22 tunnels over the past nine years. Additionally, he announced plans to extend the railway network to India’s borders. Emphasizing the nation’s progress, he drew a connection between Uttarakhand and the recent success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, specifically referencing the Shiv-Shakti Point, the designated landing site.

Addressing the need for improved connectivity between Kedarnath and Manaskhand, the Prime Minister introduced the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, designed to enhance accessibility to numerous temples in the Kumaon region and bolster tourism. Modi also pledged Rs 4,000 crore to Uttarakhand over the next four to five years for the purpose of addressing natural disasters.
