Operation Ajay Continues to Safely Evacuate Indians and Nepalese from Israel Amidst Conflict”

"Indian Armed Forces' Ongoing Mission Brings Over 1,000 Citizens Home as Nepal Expresses Gratitude"

In the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Operation Ajay, led by the Indian Armed Forces, remains dedicated to the safe evacuation of Indian and Nepalese citizens from Israel. Additionally ,in a post on social media platform X, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that 286 passengers, including 18 Nepalese nationals, arrived on board the fifth flight under Operation Ajay.

He also shared pictures of the passengers being welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan.

Minister Murugan highlight the government’s commitment to bringing back its citizens, focused on the success of Operations Ganga and Kaveri. Operation Ajay has already brought 1,180 individuals back to India, making it the first country to initiate such evacuations. Notably, this mission also extends assistance to our Nepalese neighbors, with around 4,500 Nepalis in Israel in an interview.

According to the Kerala government, there were 22 people from the state among the passengers who arrived in the flight.

The SpiceJet aircraft A340 had faced a technical issue after landing at Tel Aviv on Sunday and the plane was taken to Jordan to rectify the problem. After fixing the issue, the plane returned with people from Tel Aviv on Tuesday.

The plane was initially planned to come back to the capital city on Monday morning.

The Indian embassy in Israel has established a helpline and is actively providing assistance to Indian companies in the area. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan has hinted at the potential for additional flights as the situation develops. Up to this point, five flights have already landed in India as part of Operation Ajay.

Amid the challenging conflict situation, the Indian embassy has released advisories to Indian citizens in Israel, urging them to be cautious and register with the embassy. Operation Ajay remains a testament to India’s dedication to safeguarding its citizens and fostering strong relations with its neighboring country.
